Amanda Naylor - Congratulations - you have made Bonn Abbey into a delightful gem. The house itself has so much character, and the outlook over the paddocks constantly changes with the light. We had seven women from our Mothers Group who ran away from the responsibilities of husbands and children for the weekend. We ate, drank, had long baths, longer discussions about our journeys into motherhood and slept-in late.

The hard work and attention to the small details have made the difference to the house - a plentiful supply of tea, coffee & sugar; dishwashing powder; loads of firewood; great quality bedding; and a wonderful supply of kitchenware.

We would highly recommend Bonn Abbey and would definitely stay again with a group of people.

Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful properties! It was the perfect venue for our large family to gather for my twin brothers 30th birthday. The weather was perfect and the pool at Maranda House was particularly popular!

Both houses are so beautifully presented and well appointed. With such a large group (13 adults and 6 children) both fully stocked kitchens were appreciated, and the space allowed for us all to gather for meals in comfort and with ease. Everything we needed was available to us, the local general store provided anything we had forgotten and Pickled and Pitted was a great resource for those important gourmet add-ons.

The local wineries were fantastic and meant that we barely ventured back into Pokolbin - we didn't need to (although we did enjoy the Hunter Valley Gardens - especially the kids). Craig at the Nightingales tasting room was a knowledgeable, attentive source of information who was very helpful and generous. He included a free bottle of sparkling white when we told him why we were in the region and where we were staying - another reason to recommend their beautiful wines.....

We would definitely recommend both Maranda House and Bonn Abbey to friends thinking of spending time in the Hunter Valley. The talk around the dinner table concluded that we would recommend staying in Broke over staying in Pokolbin - it's much more charming and quiet, with all the facilities you travel to the area for, while still being close enough to Pokolbin and the big wineries to satisfy those with an interest in wall to wall wine tasting.

Thank you again for providing such beautiful houses, which are so thoroughly and thoughtfully prepared and presented.

Sarah Jane Cronin -
We took both Bonn Abbey and Maranda for our wedding parties. The fact that both houses are literally minutes drive from each other allowed our families to spend a lot more time together. The houses were clean and organised upon arrival and were stocked exceptionally well. They are both very tastefully decorated and have a relaxed country feel about them, they are obviously both very well maintained and were a delight to stay at. The land that the houses are on is also well kept, fences are in good condition and we felt very comfortable letting the kids run free in the backyard even with so many people coming and going in preparation for our wedding.

Our stay at Bonn Abbey and Maranda will stay with us forever, obviously as part of our wedding but also for making the time so romantic and relaxing. With so much effort that goes into maintaining the houses and the care and consideration that has gone into every aspect of the houses and their contents, it makes them instantly welcoming and home-like. I would recommend anyone looking for a romantic country getaway or a family holiday to stay at Maranda and Bonn Abbey."

Very comfortable and close to everything. Sitting out the front in the sun having breakfast was stunning. The view was lovely. We enjoyed staying in Broke as it was conveniently located with only a short distance to travel into Pokolbin. Very much enjoyed visiting the smaller family owned boutique wineries in the Broke area. The free Nightingales bus tour that we organised for the Saturday was outstanding. It was a very memorable and a great experience. Thoroughly enjoyed the three wineries we visited and the olive shop. Lunch at Nightingales was delicious and the prices very reasonable - everyone was extremely friendly and happy to pass on their knowledge of wine. The bus driver Peter was such a lovely man and very obliging in every way.

- The little artistic touches and attention to detail was greatly admired and appreciated. Everything, but everything, was catered for and that made the stay really relaxing and enjoyable. We also appreciated having the third night as we were so much more refreshed by the stay and had time to do things at our leisure. We would (and, indeed, already have,) recommend Bonn Abbey to friends and work colleagues, unhesitatingly. My sister-in-law says when it is her turn to pick a venue she is choosing Bonn Abbey again, and I am heartily in agreement with that, so we WILL be back.

- This is a most homely property which has you relaxed from the moment you arrive. Foremost it is clean and comfortable with a lot of little extras. It is as if you are house sitting a friends home. The outlook of rural scenery is amazingly peaceful & relaxing. The wineries, restaurants and Hunter Gardens are close and convenient.

Bonn Abbey is of a standard equal or better than anywhere similar we have stayed in the world. A world traveller would find it a real first class Australian experience.
We will be back for sure.
