Hunter Valley Zoo - Located within the Hunter's scenic and popular Wine Country, Hunter Valley Zoo has acres of both Australian and exotic animals. Feed our animals ... you can feed the kangaroos, wallabies, deer and birds as often as you like. Feed you family ... either cook up a storm on the BBQs or get some refreshments at our ZOO Kiosk ... then relax in the picnic grounds. We have many kangaroo and wallaby species to see, as well as koalas, dingoes, wombats, reptiles, monkeys, birds and deer.Opening times: 9.00am - 4.00pm each day (except Christmas Day)
Location: Lomas Lane, Nulkaba (5 mins from Cessnock) Phone: (02) 4990 7714

The Aqua Golf Driving Range or Putt Putt Golf and at Hunter Valley Gardens - Most people, golfers and non-golfers are aware that a driving range is a facility where they can practice their golf, it usually has 1 or more professionals teaching and golf balls that are supplied by the bucket to be hit and the golfer of course, doesn’t have to worry about the collection of them. Aqua Golf is all of these but, with a unique twist! Instead of hitting the balls into a grass area they are hit into a lake. Why a lake? The balls that we use are a floating golf ball and these are usually gathered by a breeze and blown into the floating fences where they are easily retrieved by someone in a boat. In addition, to make it more interesting, a number of floating targets have been placed in the lake that award a prize to any person who hits one of them.

In short, Aqua Golf is a driving range with an incentive. Our shop has a range of clubs that are available for those that do not have their own, these are free to use. All sizes are catered for, including left and right handed. Aqua Golf allows for woods because the lake is 300 metres across, maybe not long enough for Tiger Woods but more than adequate for most!

For the more subdued, there is an 18-hole Putt Putt course in a lovely setting beside the lake. It’s all here for a relaxing day – picnic facilities, BBQ’s, tables and entertainment.
