Alphawood is a private 13-acre haven perched on the top of the hill, with breathtaking views over the treetops all the way to the Watagan Ranges. Located within easy reach of the Hunter Valley’s renowned Mount View and Hunter Valley wineries, restaurants and golf courses. The famous Bistro Molines being just a 6 min drive away, and famous Pokolbin wineries – Peterson’s, Lakes Folly, Brokenwood, McGuigan, Keith Tulloch, Scarborough & restaurants – Muse, Café Enzo - just a 15 min drive.

Surrounded by manicured lawns and with a stunning modern mineral pool, Alphawood is a combination of two eras; a beautiful old cottage and a new modern house, seamlessly and cleverly combined to give both character and space. The “old” Alphawood is a beautiful two bedroomed cottage with two-person spa bath. It has wonderful cathedral ceilings, timber beams and feature windows. This area is fully self-contained with its own combustion fire and has every welcoming comfort including reverse-cycle air-conditioning. The “old” joins to the “new”, expanding to a modern four bedroomed single level residence with a fantastic entertainer’s kitchen and large, open plan living and dining area with generous sofas and comfortable beds. Alphawood has an expansive, covered alfresco patio, with BBQ areas & lots of seating.

What better way to end a busy day of wine tasting by relaxing at Alphawood, complete with BBQ pack collected as you pass the local Wollombi Providore, enjoying a glass of wine, whilst listening to the sounds of native Bellbirds and watch the local kangaroos at Alphawood estate, taking in the views across the valley or just relaxing and soaking up the sun besides Alphawood’s magnificent mineral swimming pool.

Weekend - minimum 2 nights for up to 12 guests (adults or children) $1380 per night
Midweek - minimum 2 nights for up to 12 guests (adults or children) $1035 per night
Infants under 2 are free.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond of $1500.00 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre- authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.

Please contact us for a quote. Discounts are available on midweek stays and longer stays of 4 nights and over.
NOTES - One-night stays are available midweek. Weekend one-night stays may be available but will attract a surcharge.
Weekend Public Holiday bookings must a minimum 3-night stay at full weekend rate.
Easter, Christmas and New Year are a 3-4-night stay and charged at full weekend rate.
Concerts weekends in the Hunter Valley do have a set minimum to stay and may attract a surcharge

Fabulous!

The property was fabulous. We couldn't have been happier. There were 10 of us in total and there was so much space we didn't feel on top of each other at all. From the pool to the bedrooms and the amazing kitchen, everything was thought out and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The views are also fantastic! Would highly recommend to anyone.

A superb weekend away!

We had a wonderful time staying at Alphawood. The house was spacious and perfect for 6 couples to stay in. The area was peaceful and relaxing, with a beautiful outlook over the mountains. The coffee pods and bottle of wine were a lovely and very appreciated addition! The house had everything we needed and was just perfect. A superb weekend away! We would love to come back :)

Great time had by all

My family and I stayed at Alphawood for two nights while we were visiting the Hunter Valley wine region. Alphawood is a beautifully decorated place to stay, with both rustic and modern appeal - the place was well furnished and equipped with everything you needed to make it feel like your own ‘home’. There’s not one thing I can single out as the highlight of the stay, as everything was so thoughtful. The bathrooms are beautifully renovated, the double storey dwelling has true rustic appeal with all its timber features, the single storey dwelling has such a beautiful kitchen/dining/living area, and you get an expansive view of the green scenery from this area. It was more than 35 degrees during our stay however the A/C works very well to keep everyone cool inside the house. The house is also well equipped with magazines and brochures on Hunter Valley attractions. I will mention that Optus/Vodafone mobile carriers will not have any signal at Alphawood (Telstra seems to pick up low to medium mobile reception) however you are provided access to the residence’s WiFi which solves a lot of your communication problems. It is roughly a 30 minute drive to the wineries so I would recommend coming to Alphawood with a car and a designated driver (someone who wouldn’t mind missing out on the fun wine tasting!). I would also recommend taking a dip in the pool around 5PM - 6PM while the sun is still out but not glaring hot! All in all my family had a great time in the area and staying at Alphawood was a very worthwhile experience.

Fantastic!

Great home for six people. Excellent kitchen and BBQ, comfy beds, good bathrooms, amazing pool. The air-conditioning kept the house cool while it was 40 degrees outside.

Excellent Stay!!!

Just spent a long weekend at Alphawood with family, including 3 kids. the place is excellent, very well appointed especially in the kitchen. The bedrooms were nicely appointed with a separate Parents Retreat & loft area which is fantastic. Great views of the valley, & vineyards are close by. Great outdoor entertaining area to sit & have meal & or just relax. Well worth a stay.

Every comfort you could ask for!

WOW!! What a beautiful stay we had here! We had a large family gathering to celebrate mums 60th so we needed space for adults and children and this place nailed it!! The entire 5 night stay was so relaxing, with every amenities we needed to make our stay an enjoyable one. The view is UNBELIEVABLE and the finishes are second to none! We can’t wait to come back and chill out again!

Stunning country hideaway

We’re looking out at the Devon rain, yet again, and wishing ourselves back where we were this time last year – in Australia in the warmth and sun. We spent time in Sydney, Melbourne, and Tasmania but our favourite memories are of the days we spent at Alphawood. It was lovely to relax in such beautiful, peaceful surroundings; having a dip in the pool, and enjoying the views. The drive along a winding mountain road, gives glimpses of the scenery before arriving at Alphawood with its panoramic views across the valley. The house itself was spotlessly clean, well equipped and beautifully furnished. It had a comfortable cosy feel even though it can cater for more than just the three of us!! After the hustle and bustle of the cities we relished the solitude and the wildlife – kangaroos in the field, a wombat and a monitor lizard along the road, the birds (even the bell birds) and the wonderful starry night skies with no light pollution. Georgeous! Book it!

This property is absolutely beautiful! The views are outstanding. The deco is perfect! The pool and outside area is very well equipped; sun lounges, tables, chairs, BBQ and so on! I couldn't fault one thing - and the HV Stays people I dealt with beforehand were also just as great!

Awesome family getaway that gives you your own space

The property was great, and we were pleasantly surprised at how well equipped the kitchen was. We were a group of 12 and the service was impeccable. Which really made the stay so much easier. The house is very well equipped in the kitchen, which made all the stuff we brought useless. The design of the property actually made a lot of sense for us. The elderly guests stayed in the smaller loft, which meant the younger crowd could stay up a bit and enjoy a glass of wine without disturbing anyone. The property offers a fantastic view of the valley and is truly beautiful at dusk and dawn.

Absolutely Impeccable

The house was impeccable. Designed for entertaining but still accommodating if you wanted some quiet time. The views and the pool were gorgeous. It certainly is a home for all weather, we were able to enjoy the pool the first day and even though it rained the second day we never felt as though we were "stuck inside" just a great flow. Now we've found Alphawood we'll be re-booking for our trip next year.

Great Property for a Big Group

Great property. We had 10 adults and 2 babies staying. Separate cottage is great for the babies and the house is fully equipped with everything one might need. Lovely views, great pool, quality linens etc.

Stunning home, with everything you could want, and short drive to best vineyards

We were a mix of family with 2 kids, plus 2 additional couples. The house was perfect - kids stayed in the adjoining house whilst the adults drank and relaxed in the main area. It was quite a chilly weekend, so we used the fireplace.. which was a wonderful touch. The house is well stocked with board games and dvds for the kids too. I would love to return in warmer weather to use the pool.. it looks stunning! There was lots of parking for our cars, and it was a short drive to nearby wineries. We were able to both enjoy the house and go out for the day to taste some wine. Would recommend this home to anyone thinking of a trip to the hunter!

Awesome house & location. Very secluded & private.

We organised & family get together. Alphawood was outstanding it was exactly what we were after. Secluded very private & we even took the kids out for a little bushwalk we spotted a wombat which the kids loved. We were also allowed to take our little dog. Highly recommended & will definitely be back.
