Set prominently at the top of their 25 acre boutique vineyard this stunning architecturally designed mansion is truly unique and designed to host a maximum of 15 guests who will enjoy the grandeur of 7 bedrooms and 4 huge bathrooms, as well as spacious indoor and outdoor living, dining and entertaining spaces. Reflecting a traditional Spanish mansion with white stucco walls, wrought iron, and classic European fitting and fixtures, you’ll love the unique details and handcrafted artworks, antiques, rustic terracotta, hand crafted timber windows and painted pottery to add true character and textural elements to Iron Gates' decor.
The design of the residence provides you with complete privacy yet you are only moments away from the leadings attractions and experiences of the Hunter Valley. Conveniently located in the heart of Pokolbin and only an 8-minute drive to the iconic Hunter Valley Gardens, award winning restaurants, concert venues and world-class golf courses. Zip up the road for a casual lunch with views at Twine Restaurant, dine on the terrace at Baume at Ben Ean or order the best salumi and cheese platter in the valley at Usher Tinkler, set in the Old Pokolbin Church.
The European eat-in kitchen with granite bench tops is equipped with modern appliances including an induction stove top, 120cm electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, Expressi coffee machine and fridge/freezer - the kitchen flows out to the outdoor entertaining area.
Sink back into the brocade lounges in the cosy winter living room with open fireplace or enjoy the wide screen tv and chill out spaces in the TV room with surround-sound.

Great for a large group
Great location, spacious house, fab weekend away.
Property exceeded our expectations
What an fantastic location, right in the middle of the Hunter Valley. There is vines as far as the eye can see. The property exceeded our expectations, great for a mixed group. Hunter Valley Stays provided an awesome service from the accommodation through to tips on how to make our Hunter stay even better. I highly recommend their service.
Incredible weekend
‘We had the most amazing weekend staying at Iron Gate and I would highly, highly recommend staying here if you have a large group (we had 14 adults in total). The property is absolutely gorgeous, clean and very private. It’s even bigger and more grand than in the photos! We had wine tours booked but we didn’t even want to leave as it was so nice lounging around the pool! On our last day we checked out the Iron Gate Estate Winery next door for a wine tasting and we learnt the history of the house! It was so special and made us appreciate it even more! Thank you Hunter Valley Stays for the most incredible weekend! We will be back soon!

Perfect home for a weekend with friends
Beautiful big house fully stocked with everything you need for a weekend with friends.The pool and outdoor entertaining area was great and the location excellent. The house was clean and welcoming. It was big enough for 14 of us to stay comfortably with plenty of space and bathrooms. Will stay here again.

It’s a must go destination
It’s an amazing property with the best vineyard view in hunter valley. The area experienced a bad storm before I arrived, but they did a great job to keep it clean and work. The manager Galvin was very nice and helpful. We had a good wine tasting experience at their cellar door. The property is a good Spanish design and you won’t see it at any other place in hunter valley. Must go!!! And must book.

Perfect for large groups
The house is fantastic. With so many bedrooms and living areas it is perfect for large groups. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and kitchenware – Perfect for cooking for large groups. The BBQ is great as well. We had a great time walking the Vineyard. The kids loved the huge swimming pool. Perfect location for visiting wineries. The Irongate cellar door is a short walk across the property.
Relaxing Spanish Villa with Incredible Views
Iron Gate is a spectacular villa, so much beauty and it was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Waking each morning to the view of the vineyard while the sun rose over the pool was my favourite part. The perfect location to stay with multiple families or friends. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the facilities throughout the house were perfect. I can’t wait to stay again.

A lovely space for out whole family to enjoy our Christmas weekend. Pool was beautiful, grounds spacious, beds and linen very clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Better than the pictures!
The house was absolutely gorgeous, better than the pictures and perfect for a summer or winter get away. We planned for rain but lucked out with the weather and enjoyed the pool and outdoor dining. We saw kangaroos among the vines in the mornings and sunset was beautiful. Everyone (we had 12 people) was super comfortable and the house had everything we needed, love the style and the location. Would stay there again.

Feeling like you are in Tuscany
The stay at The Gate House at Iron Gate Estate was phenomenal. The home is so stunning and picturesque! The views and all round location and atmosphere was amazing. In addition to literally feeling like you are in Tuscany, the facilities available were wonderful and we felt very much at home. The bottle of wine and olive oil (this was delicious!) were a nice touch. Communication prior to check in and for check out was smooth and easy. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Took my breath away
This was my second stay at Iron Gate Estate and it took my breath away again. Such a lovely home, you’ll never want to leave. Communication was very easy with Hunter Valley Stays and I would highly recommend.

The house is a beautiful Tuscan villa
The house is a beautiful Tuscan villa looking out over a breathtaking vineyard. It is an easy 5 min walk through beautiful vines to the Iron Gate cellar door, which is highly recommended for a tasting and to see the flocks of pink Gallas flying over the vineyard. We were a large group staying at the house, and we all had enough room to relax and enjoy the various spaces. The kitchen and terrace are ideal for entertaining; we used these spaces to the fullest. The house is well equipped for cooking and entertaining with everything you would need. The kitchen came stocked with oil, salt & pepper, a coffee machine, and pods. The weather was just a bit chilly, so we didn’t brave the pool, but it looked very inviting, and in the warmer months, I’m sure it would be fantastic. We had minor hiccups, but the very responsive hosts quickly resolved these. We all loved our stay, and we would highly recommend the house to any large groups.

An exceptional property for a large group
An exceptional property for a large group. Plenty of room, no shortage of space for people to spread out and enjoy the serenity of the location, but amazing entertaining spaces both indoors and outdoors. Extremely well equipped with all the necessary items you’d expect to find, and smaller additional touches too. This property made our weekend, thank you! We cannot recommend it highly enough and the hosts were incredibly easy and professional to deal with. We will be back!

Check – in was so smooth, place was as described, location was perfect and close to all great wineries Had a great stay, beautiful property.
Huge property
Huge property for large family gathering , plenty of room to spread out, beds were comfortable, would have been nice if we could have stayed an extra night to enjoy the surrounds & grounds however we were there for a family wedding.
Felt like we’d been transported to Italy
We loved our stay, the property is gorgeous and felt like we’d been transported to Italy. It was a great location in the middle of the Hunter Valley. The team were very quick to respond to us and made sure the house was spotless on arrival, we loved the complimentary bottle of Iron Gate shiraz too!
