A romantic retreat for a couples, the cottage is incredibly spacious and features a signature corrugated iron cathedral ceiling, a gorgeous king size four poster bed with bellowing white linen curtains, bath, open plan lounge area with a cosy combustion fireplace. You’ll have everything you will need to stay including a self-contained kitchen, BBQ, Nespresso coffee machine, air-conditioning, Smart TV and fan. Your four-legged family members are also accommodated within an outdoor petite fenced pet run for a paw-fect sleepover.
Sunset Ridge at Sweetacres offers so much peace, relaxation, and enjoyment for guests onsite as well as being ideally located to take advantage of the many cellar doors, restaurants, attractions, and activities within moments of your cottage. Sample the delights of Hermitage Road and dine at Botanica, and Piggs Peake. Sample excellent food and brew at The Farm where you can horse ride, take a Segway tour, or meet the animals! Enjoy terrific hospitality whilst wine-tasting at neighbouring Hunter Wine Lab, Wombat Crossing, Thomas Wines, Ironbark Hill Brewhouse, Keith Tulloch or Tintilla. Wedding guests will love being only moments from signature reception venues including Enzo, The White Barn and Greystone Estate. Sweetacres is only 7 minutes’ drive to the Hunter Valley Gardens, The Vintage Golf Course, Roche, and Hope Estates as well as all food and wine delights of Hermitage, Broke and Deasys Roads.
For the active at heart, take a bush walk around Sweetacres’ walking tracks past the billabong and the casuarina woodlands or, wander across the lawn to enjoy The Deck leisure area or a dip in the refreshing shared Guest saltwater pool (please note pets are not permitted in the pool). You may also like to hire a bike and take the Hermitage Road cycle track to explore the best this destination has on offer.
Please note Sunset Ridge at Sweetacres IS pet friendly; we permit a maximum of 2 dogs at the property at any one time. A $30 per pet fee is applicable for all bookings that include pets.
Please Note: Sweetacres is not fully compliant for accessibility requirements, however we do have a Wheel Chair Ramp, Toilet Seat Safety Rails and a Shower Chair available (provided on request only). Please contact us to discuss your needs and we can advise if we can assist.

A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.
Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.

Secluded luxury
Enjoy secluded luxury while also being central to the best of the hunter. The cabin has everything you need for a weekend getaway and the pool is a huge plus.
Beautiful Cottage in a Very Tranquil Environment
Walking distance to many great wineries. We were able to take our dogs which was fantastic. Will definitely be back here in the future.

It was very peaceful and quiet. Our daughter loved the pool and all the space.
Peaceful, countryside escape
Cute little cottage in the Hunter Valley which is secluded and perfect if you have a little dog. We arrived and there was a complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge from a local vineyard. A peaceful, countryside escape and still close to local vineyards and gorgeous restaurants. A really lovely place.

Very relaxing place, great location and excellent customer service. The cabin was nice and clean. Our dog had the best time running around, the complementary bottle of wine was a beautiful gesture and the late check out was a winner!
Perfect place for a getaway
Sunset Ridge Cottage was beautiful. It’s the perfect place for a getaway – close enough to the wineries, but still offering privacy and seclusion. The cottage itself is lovely – fully equiped with everything you need, plenty of ways to follow the sun on the outside verandah and a great spa bath with beautiful views to finish off the day. I couldn’t have asked for more!

Couldn’t fault the place. It was exactly as expected and very central to most of the wine region we wanted to visit.

We loved our stay at the Sunset cottage, it was so magical waking up and seeing trees and wild life all around you.

A perfect spot!
A perfect spot to spend time away from the city. The cottage was exactly as described – clean, comfortable and quiet. The property is huge and most of the time it felt like we had the space to ourselves which was amazing. Very close to all the wineries and restaurants meant that we got to enjoy more time in the cottage and less time on the road. Would book again in a heart beat!

Everything we needed
We stayed in the sunset Ridge cottage for our anniversary and it was perfect . On arrival there was a bottle of Rosé on the table and the fireplace was prepared and ready to light. The cottage was amazing and had everything we needed, comfortable king size bed, air con , heater and of course the fireplace which heated the place beautifully. The large shower and adjacent spa bath had great views of the surrounding trees and property, it was pretty special watching kangaroos and wallabies grazing as we sat in the spa with a glass of local red. The cottage was very isolated from the other accommodations on the property,we felt like we were the only two there and it’s located very close to a lot of wineries and restaurants. Sunset cottage lives up to its name and we will definitely be back.

Literally felt like a home
We had to stay away for a Wedding and this little home literally felt like a home. So cozy we didnt want to leave.
Such a relaxing time
Wonderful stay. We had such a relaxing time on the property. We were there over Christmas and were greeted with decorations, fairy lights and delicious Christmas treats. Loved swimming in the pool. The cottage felt very private and the shower and bed were terrific. Our dog pikkles loved her stay also.

Peaceful relaxing stay
Sunset Ridge Cottage is peaceful relaxing stay, with everything you need for a few days. Wildlife at your doorstep on sunset. No to far from shops if you need to get anything you may have forgotten.

We really enjoyed our time at Sunset Ridge Cottage. It was so blissful and on a huge estate which feels very free, great to disconnect unwind. They have thought of everything. Can’t complain about a thing it’s a little slice of comfort inbetween exploring the Hunter.
Peaceful, tranquil, romantic
We both loved our stay at Sweetacres Sunset Ridge, it was a little peace of tranquil paradise, it was quiet, no one disturbed us. the spa was amazing, gazing out into the sunset and the night sky. bed was super comfy even for an afternoon nap. Perfect spot for Romance and weekends away with the one you love.
