This remarkable country homestead will embrace you with its friendly and welcoming feel. You will be instantly impressed with the beautifully landscaped gardens and manicured hedges. The generous open-plan spaces and large living areas, complete with an expansive covered outdoor entertaining area, spilling onto a sparkling in-ground pool and outdoor pizza oven makes the ideal setting for entertaining your family and friends. The new games room boasts a pool table, dart board and table tennis table.

Boasting 9 spacious bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms (including 2 ensuites-one featuring a corner spa bath), this impressive homestead can comfortably accommodate up to 22 guests or 18 guests in separate beds.

Tharah features a large brand new open-plan country-style kitchen with stone bench-tops, stainless steel appliances as well as an impressive country-style oven and cook-top, large enough to cater perfectly for those special family occasions and celebrations! The kitchen flows seamlessly into a large dining area with slow-combustion wood burning fire and breath-taking views over the in-ground pool to the surrounding vineyards and mountains beyond.

With 9 foot ceilings throughout, reverse cycle ducted air-conditioning, 2 over-size lounge areas featuring a double wood-burning fireplace, Tharah is the perfect choice to relax and unwind with your favourite glass of hunter vino! The large pet friendly yard means your best four-legged friend doesn't have to miss out on all that Tharah has to offer! (Please note the fencing is farm fencing and is not fully enclosed).

Tharah is remarkably private but is located just a short drive to concert venues and within walking distance to the Valley's finest restaurants and wineries. You have Peterson's Winery to the right, Briar Ridge directly across the road, and Bistro Molines and Tallavera Grove just 700m away.

NOTES
A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.

Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.

Concert and special event weekends in the Hunter Valley will have a set minimum night requirement to stay and may attract a surcharge.

Wonderful long weekend

Our family of 16 adults and dog had a wonderful long weekend at Tharah. The location is beautiful and close to some great wineries. Generally the facilities at the house were good.I’ll write privately regarding some suggestions. Thank you to the staff at Hunter Valley Stayz for good communication and returning the forgotten hairdryer!

What a great place for such a big group with plenty of space

I stayed here a few years ago and was impressed with all the renovations they've done since then. Extra bedrooms and bathroom (great for the 18 of us who were attending a wedding) as well as an awesome games shed with plenty of space to hang out and enjoy the peaceful surrounds. The kitchen has also been renovated with so much space, plates and cups, there's even a mixmaster if you want to bake a cake! Loved the massive dining table with enough space for all 18 of us to sit for breakfast. Everyone commented on what a great place it was for such a big group with plenty of space for everyone to have their own room and space to chill out. Will be back again when we have a large group stay in the Hunter. Such a beautiful house! Thanks for the great communications and early check-in. The place was amazing and the renovations since we last stayed were phenomenal.

This is an incredible place to stay. The place has a great layout, so even though there were a lot of us it never felt crowded. The hosts were so friendly and called on the day to make sure we got in ok and we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here. The view from the house was beautiful.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful time at the property, it was fantastic for a large group of friends with plenty of space for us to relax and enjoy. House catered for all of our needs

Thank you for a fantastic stay. We came as a group of 18 people for work and loved our stay in this beautiful home. The location was fantastic, the views were superb, and the house catered for all of our needs. The fireplaces were stunning and provided adequate warmth with the internal central heating also. The house accommodated for 18 people sleeping separately and didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The party shed was ideal and not only provided a bit of fun, but also a great break out area for our working groups. Thank you for accommodating us all and making the whole stay seamless and enjoyable.

Family Reunion Excellence at Tharah

Tharah met and exceeded our expectations for our Family Reunion for 16 guests (and 2 dogs) in Feb, 2023. The property was missing nothing to make the stay thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining for guests ranging from 18 to 87! The ability to self-cater with every confidence that there were all the amenities to enable us to do so made for a hugely successful time. We utilized every resource while there..... the pool, the games room, the pizza oven, the BBQ, the completely equipped kitchen, local wineries, and other amenities. We practically lived outdoors under the covered patio which lent itself perfectly to hot summer days. The home was spotlessly clean and well serviced prior to our arrival. Thank you to the managers of this property! A few tiny attention to details that are just routine wear and tear we have made note of, but nothing of any importance. Highly recommend this property!!

Home away from home

This was one of the best accommodations we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. It allowed our family to stay & play together. What we loved a lot was the dining table that allowed our entire family to sit down together for the first time ever. Family reunion

We had the best time with our family at "Tharah". The house has spacious living areas , comfortable lounges and decorated beautifully. The kitchen has 2 big fridges, a 4 oven stove and all the cooking equipment needed to cook meals for a large group.The large 22 seat dining table accommodated our family . A door leads from this area to a spacious covered entertaining area which has a long table and seating, bbq, wood fired pizza oven and a gas heater which makes it cosy even when the temperature is low. Just off this area is the fenced swimming pool [was too cold for a dip} but in warmer weather would be wonderful. The beds were very comfy and nice linen .The games shed is a great amenity, with table tennis, pool table[ in good condition] lounges , fridge etc.. Overall a perfect house to enjoy ones family or friends,[ we all felt it was our new home!] Owner John and Hunter Valley Stays are a very welcoming , helpful and caring team..thank you from all of us.

Great property for a large group

This house was perfect for our large group stay. The facilities were excellent, and covered all bases. Plenty of beds, a very large kitchen and the games room which provided lots of entertainment. Absolutely fabulous home

We rented the house for our family wedding.. it was magnificent.. Each guest had a beautiful comfortable room to stay in for two nights. The home is vast and has plenty of room for a large group. The view is beyond beautiful.. stunning and so so relaxing. Everything you need is there, including a pool and fantastic games room.. The Pizza oven makes delish pizzas and the outdoor deck fabulous for dining alfresco. The indoor dining table is so large it comfortably fits the whole gang. It is so tastefully decorated that everyone was commenting on how ingenious the design was. Thank you Tharah .. you sure lived up to our expectations

Couldn't fault our stay - beautiful!

I honestly could not fault our stay at Tharah. It could not have been easier to organise and the place itself was beautiful, homely and very clean. The property had enough amenities to keep adults and kids occupied and relaxed for 3 days. The surrounding views and landscape was gorgeous and we were still so close to the HV gardens, chocolate and cheese factories ad endless wineries. Thank you to the management team at Tharah. Great place for a group get together

What a great place for a family or group get together in a beautiful rural setting. We celebrated a family milestone with 9 adults and 9 children. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were plentiful and modern. The fact that we could sit all 18 around the magnificent dining table was great. We did the same outside as well. The pizza oven was well used. The games room was very popular with the children as was the bonfire facility. "Awesome" was the word used. The manager assisted with the retrieval of an item left behind. Great and friendly service. Would recommend this property to any large group.

Everything and more!

Tharah Estate was everything we wanted and more. Although we had a bit of rain one day, Tharah has a beautiful covered outdoor space to still enjoy the BBQ and wood fire oven facilities. The house is super spacious which allows to have a great weekend away with friends but still have a bit of privacy. We didn't even use all the different parts of the house. We love cooking so the kitchen with all its Smeg appliances was a real treat. TIP: there's a 2nd fridge in the shed that we had originally missed. Plenty of space and storage in the house!

Wow!

We could not rate Tharah high enough! An absolutely beautiful property with outstanding views which was so peaceful and quiet! Perfect for our girls weekend away! The property fit 16 of us so comfortably as did all the facilities. The kitchen - WOW!! The back shed is an awesome addition and was so beautiful sitting under the fairy lights at night! We could not fault anything at all and can not wait to visit again!

Great place for large group

This is the 15th year this group has gone somewhere. Catering for all our needs takes quite a bit of planning.Tharah fulfilled all our requirements plus some. The play shed was enjoyed by the males ready to do battle over pool, table tennis and darts. The large kitchen and dining area allowed easy food preparation and the table allowed us all to be together. We were all impressed with the lovely decor and comfortable seating areas. We are deciding whether I need to search out alternate venues or we decide to make Tharah our annual escape.
